Credit card profiling
Your credit card probably doesn’t match how you spend
Most people pick a card from a list, then spend for years in categories that card barely rewards. The card keeps working. It just pays you a fraction of what a different one would, on exactly the same spending.
Check what my card earnsHow to tell if this is you
Any one of these means the card in your wallet is not the one your spending deserves.
- Your top two spending categories are groceries, delivery, fuel or travel - and your card pays its highest rate on something else
- You cannot say what your card earned you last year, in rupees
- You are paying an annual fee for lounge access or vouchers you did not use
- You chose the card from a 'best cards' list rather than from your own statement
What the mismatch costs
A reward rate only means something once you multiply it by what you actually spend. The gap between a poorly matched card and a fitting one is usually two to three percentage points.
And the gap widened in 2026. SBI Card restricted redemption to multiples of 4,000 points with a 60,000 monthly cap. HDFC cut the Regalia Gold earn rate and put lounge access behind Rs 60,000 of quarterly spend. Axis dropped its Accor, Marriott and Qatar Airways partnerships. If you chose your card before those changes, you chose it on terms that no longer exist. What changed, card by card.
Match the card to the spending, not to a ranking
Start from your own statement. Find your two largest categories by rupee value, then find the card that pays best on those two.
Matched to what you actually spend
The engine reads your real fuel, dining, travel and online spending, then finds the Indian card that pays the most on those specific categories - not the one that ranks best in general.
Filter on what matters to you
Lifetime free, zero forex markup, lounge access, RuPay-on-UPI. Pick the constraints that are real for you and ignore the perks you will never use.
No CIBIL impact to look
Matching and pre-eligibility on Unyfy is a soft inquiry. Only a formal application triggers a hard pull, and only with your consent.
One caveat worth stating: if you carry a balance on your card, none of this matters. At 36 to 42 percent annualised, the interest dwarfs any reward rate. Clear that first.
