What Unyfy costs, and how it makes money

Unyfy is free to use, and Premium is Rs 99 a month, cancellable at any time. That is the short answer. The longer and more useful answer is how an app that reads your transaction data is paid, because with a free financial app that is the question that actually matters.

The problem: "free" is the most expensive word in fintech

Every free money app in India is funded by something. Usually lending. Sometimes advertising. Occasionally data. None of that is wrong, and all of it changes what the app shows you - so you should be able to find out which one it is without reading a privacy policy.

    • A tracker funded by lending has a reason to show you credit whether or not you need it
    • A tracker funded by advertising has a reason to keep you scrolling rather than finished
    • A subscription app has a reason to be useful next month, which is a better-aligned incentive but costs you money
    • Most apps make you infer which they are. That inference is usually correct and rarely flattering

How Unyfy is paid, stated plainly

Two revenue lines, both disclosed, neither hidden behind an interstitial.

    • Referral commission when you take a credit card, a personal loan or a balance transfer through Unyfy - paid by the lender, not by you
    • The Rs 99 a month Premium subscription, billed through Cashfree
    • Small margin on discounted vouchers in the savings store
    • No advertising business, and transaction data is not sold - there is no third revenue line to look for

What is in the free plan

The free plan is not a trial. It is the whole core loop, because a product that cannot show its value before payment is not worth paying for.

    • Six months of transaction history scanned, subject to availability
    • Credit cards you are actually eligible for, and personal loan options
    • Simplified credit card statement by merchant, brand and category
    • Hidden charges identified across your accounts
    • Credit score - one soft pull at signup, which does not affect your score
    • The discounted voucher store, and credit card bill payment

What Rs 99 a month adds

Premium is for people who have already found something in the free plan and want the parts that need continuous data rather than a single snapshot.

    • Twelve to twenty-four months of transaction history instead of six, which is what makes annual and seasonal patterns visible
    • Credit score refreshed twice a month, matching the cycle on which lenders now report to bureaus, plus monthly improvement insights
    • The AI assistant answering questions about your own data rather than about personal finance in general
    • Fixed-expense prediction, and paying those fixed expenses from the app so nothing is missed
    • An extra 2 to 5 percent off vouchers on top of the standard discount
    • Trip and event spend tracking, charge disputes, and a 30-minute call with a financial expert every six months

Whether it is worth Rs 99 to you

A fair test rather than a pitch. Rs 1,188 a year has to come back from somewhere specific.

    • If you spend around Rs 15,000 a month on categories the voucher store covers, the extra 2 to 5 percent alone can exceed the subscription
    • If you have one forgotten subscription of Rs 199 a month, cancelling it pays for two years of Premium
    • If your transactions are simple, your history is short and you have no recurring charges, the free plan is genuinely enough - stay on it
    • Take a credit card or a loan through Unyfy and Premium is unlocked free for three months automatically, which is the honest way to try it

    Common questions

    Is Unyfy free?

Yes. The free plan includes six months of transaction history, eligible credit cards and loans, hidden-charge detection, a simplified card statement, the voucher store, card bill payment and one credit score pull at signup. Premium at Rs 99 a month adds longer history, a twice-monthly score refresh, the AI assistant on your own data and expense prediction.

How much does Unyfy Premium cost?

Rs 99 per month, billed through Cashfree, cancellable at any time from inside the app. Taking a credit card or personal loan through Unyfy unlocks Premium free for three months automatically.

How does Unyfy make money if the app is free?

Three ways, all disclosed: referral commission paid by lenders when you take a credit card, personal loan or balance transfer through Unyfy; the Rs 99 a month Premium subscription; and a small margin on discounted vouchers. There is no advertising business and transaction data is not sold.

Can I cancel Unyfy Premium any time?

Yes. Premium is billed monthly at Rs 99 and can be cancelled at any time; access continues to the end of the billing period already paid for. The refund and cancellation policy sets out the details.

Free plan, Rs 99 a month for Premium, cancel any time, and referral commission from lenders when you move to a better product. If any of those three make you uncomfortable, that is a reasonable reaction and it is better to have it now than to discover it later.
